My 14 yr old Shih-poo has a disc compression in her spine(possible injury or just age) and lost much of the control in her hind legs in early May. My traditional vets plan was steroids and pain meds for rest of her life. I was not ok with that so I started her on ripcord on June 6th… I the decided to make the 1.5 hr drive to my old vet where I used to live because they use alternative care like massage, laser and acupuncture,etc and and it took 5 weeks to get her enrolled in their program (I live in a very rural area) because they are the only place out side of Atlanta, so very busy. Anyway It is now 55 days into her use of Ripcord and she had her first rehab visit yesterday. However, I took some videos of her trying to walk up 2 small steps to get on her bed in early July and then some 2 days ago…the difference is astonishing! From dragging her legs behind her, falling down trying to **** or pee, and mostly needing a sling to do any “walking” which we did every day with her. For the last 2 weeks she walks without the sling, doubled the distance, and 95% of the time can hold the **** position and 100% the pp squat. The toe dragging was 80% gone and she even began picking up her feet on each step. On our way home from our walk 2 days ago, I usually drop the leash in the driveway and she walks to the front door… well she ran…. Full gallop(at least 150 ft), I would not even been able to catch her!
After her diagnosis visit on 7/20, she went for first rehab yesterday, I showed them two videos … one from 7/4 and one from 7/29 and they had no explanation….they could not believe the difference in just the one week between initial visit and yesterday’s visit. Except the ripcord I was giving her. I’m so glad I tried it… she is a very healthy dog otherwise so I didn’t want her to have to suffer with this spine injury.

My 9 yr old Yellow Lab (Gabe) has Lar-Par. I am hoping to resolve the issues I see concerning his hips and rear legs. Hoping also to halt the general progression of the paralysis of his larynx. It is too early to tell if positive things are happening. I will say that Ripcord is very easy to give to him. I put it in a spray bottle and just lift a lip and spray it in! Very efficient too so I don't waste any. I do have high hopes for Ripcord in helping to maintain a good quality of life for Gabe. I would give it 5 stars if I could actually see something positive at this time. Maybe soon...

I bought the ripcord to see if it would help my daughters Akita, he had a surgery on his back leg, knee I think it was, actually vet had to go back in and do more, so he’s not done real well, has trouble getting up and down, and just walks slow, but since ripcord, he’s much more comfortable getting up and down and moving so much better , plays w their female Akita now, so I’m hoping they’ll continue him on it….
