I have a 6 y.o. Sheltie that has been a tick magnet since I got him 3 years ago. He’s had ticks so bad that there would be 5 or 6 in one spot, leaving large wounds., and I’d sometimes pull of as many as 20 per day. This was in spite of him being on a raw diet formulated by a TCM veterinarian and several supplements. About a month ago I put him on Vital Animal Detox, then spent a week housesitting at a friend’s place on the coast of Maine. To my surprise and delight, once I got home, he still didn’t have any ticks, though I comb his fur, both literally and figuratively, every day. I took him to the groomer’s a couple of days ago and she confirmed that he had not a tick nor a flea–but still had a few small scabs from when I last pulled them off.
I am beyond thrilled! Picking through my Sheltie’s fur 2 or 3 times a day, pulling off several ticks every time (we live on a woodsy acreage) was not fun for either of us, and definitely didn’t contribute to fun and bonding. Now, if the Vital Animal Detox wasn’t the only reason, it’s one heck of a coincidence. My fingers are crossed that this will continue, and I don’t plan to let the supplement run out.
